seen is a technology being dubbed Blu-ray Magic. Using Blu-ray's
network-connected BD live platform, connects BD users to pertinent
content and materials, even when there's no disc in the machine.

The International Consumer Electronics Show is turning out
to be a celebration party for Blu-ray, the high-definition
format that Sony Corp. backed, and a wake for a rival movie
disc technology pushed by Toshiba Corp.
Just two months ago, Sony CEO Howard Stringer said the fight
between Blu-ray and Toshiba's HD DVD was at a "stalemate,"
and expressed a wish to travel back in time to avert it.

Known by a few names, BD-Live hopes to match HD DVD HDi feature

The future is certainly looking Blu. The Blu-ray Disc Association
booth was jam packed full of displays, new products and new
demos. The place was teaming with folks and was definitely
much more lively than the HD DVD booth.

January 7, 2008 - Today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas,
Leonard Maltin hosted an event at the Sony Electronics booth
that showcased the interactivity of Blu-ray discs. The panel
was heavy on PR and revealed little that has not already been
discussed, but did underline Sony's dedication to expanding
interactivity and taking Blu-ray further than has currently
been explored.

With an eye toward merging the Blu-ray format's BD-Live capabilities
