The Related Content Database Inc. (RCDb) is a leading provider of services and a software platform for network-connected Blu-ray discs, players and other connected devices. Founded in 2006, RCDb provides fundamental infrastructure, products and services upon which Blu-ray, web services developers and connected devices manufacturers can rapidly and efficiently build compelling value added services.
The RCDb platform allows:
· studios and content owners to build network services, user applications and new capabilities
for their Blu-ray discs
· cloud based web services to leverage network distribution over the top to the broadband
enabled installed base of connected Blu-ray players
· faster and flexible integration with the growing population of cloud and web based services
to monetize digital media
With RCDb, the monetization of media now extends to relevant, related physical goods, such as DVDs, music CDs, books, coupons, merchandising and more.
RCDb customers include motion picture studios, record labels, content providers, merchants and consumer electronics manufacturers. RCDb is currently providing BD-Live software and network services to multiple Hollywood studios.
The RCDb platform includes at its core a server side database infrastructure. It is accessed by the RCDb client software (located on Blu-ray discs or connected Blu-ray players) or can also be accessed by connected devices.
